clay pigeon team

We departed to Edinburgh Airport severely early in Saturday morning to catch a flight to Luton. The shooting teams were:

Seniors: Jack (captain),Will, Rhu, Harry,
Tom, Angus, Josh

Juniors:  James, Lewis, Donald

We arrived and collected our vehicle and met Mr Cory-Wright who had driven with the guns and ammo the day before. The competition as held at the EJ Churchill Shooting Ground at High Wycombe and we were all impressed by the quality of the ground. We registered and set off to shoot. The Juniors shot a 32-target layout which was surprisingly testing. All the boys shot well but extra credit goes to Lewis who shot a stunning 28:32 and came second in the junior individual competition. The team came overall 4th out of 15 teams.
The seniors shot a very tricky 50-target layout with a wide variety of clays. They put in a commendable performance, especially Will with 38:50, but the competition was just too good and we finished 9th out of 20 teams. We had to leave before the prizegiving to catch a return flight to Edinburgh.
Overall it was an enjoyable day and the boys all benefited from the experience.
