Under 16 Sevens at the Edinburgh Academy

The Under 16 sevens team won the Edinburgh Academy 7s on Wednesday afternoon, 11th March, beating Heriot's 19-5 in the final.

Test of character for B2s as they come from behind to win against Northern Irish visiting side.

On Saturday 15th March the B2 team played against a visiting U14 Side from Rainey Endowed School in Maghrafelt in Nothern Ireland. The Rainey team have lost only one match this season and in the first half ran in three tries with slick moves and fast running backs. With the wind behind him, the Rainey fly-half controlled much of the game with clever kicking and the Merchiston boys struggled to compete. By half-time Merchiston’s early break-away try seemed to be very much against the run of play and the final result looked a foregone conclusion.
 
However with the wind behind them in the second half the B2s dug deep and were much more competitive in the forwards. They scored three times to seal a well-earned victory 26-21. An excellent performance from the B2 boys who showed real strength of character.
