As I review this term for you, I am yet again reminded that everything that happens in this School could not do so without the total commitment of members of staff, and indeed the pupils. I continue to be amazed by the sheer number and range of House and Departmental trips and activities and I am not at all sure which ones I would choose not to take part in! We have had trips to the Strathclyde Country Park, Hampden Park, North Berwick and the beach, Blair Drummond Safari Park, and the Knockhill racing circuit, let alone the cinema. And we have enjoyed go-karting, laserquest, cycling, paintballing and cooking! Other events have included the Young Farmers’ Club, as well as various PSE talks on the dangers of alcohol, the Police talk on drugs, and the Medical Centre talk on sexual health. Many of these activities have taken place in conjunction with our partner schools, Kilgraston, St George’s and St Margaret’s. We find that the informal pupil communication network takes over once we have established formal contact in terms of a joint activity! Many boys (if they so wish) will have the telephone numbers of friends who are girls on their mobiles, which is natural and right!
