| Over the Easter weekend the Geography Department ran a 5 day expedition to Iceland. The group of 14 Chalmers West boys was accompanied by Head of Geography, Mr Deakin along with Mr Main. On arrival, the group headed for the geothermally heated Blue Lagoon pools for some relaxation after a long journey. Over the next 3 days the group saw the unqiue and varied landcape that iceland has to offer. This included the Pingvellir rift valley, powerful Gulfoss waterfall complex and the Stokker Geysir. The ice climbing on the Solhiemjokull Glacier and a small flight and walk up the dormant Eldfell volcano on the island of Heimaey were particular highlights. |
