125th Melrose Sevens

This year the Melrose Sevens was celebrating its 125th anniversary, with three days of events including a tented village, youth and vets tournaments as well as the main tournament.  The youth tournament was sponsered by JS Crawford Ltd and we were delighted that we were able to enter an U16 team, captained by Donald Crawford, as well as having space in the tented village, thanks to the Crawfords.  The team played fantastically, beating Eton Manor 24-14 in the first game, and Ayr 24-17 in the second.  This left them with a group decider against Northern, which they lost narrowly 24-19 - a fantastic result in itself against the eventual finalists.
