 The 2009 Merchistonian match between the Leavers from 2007 & 2008 and this year's Upper 6th took place this afternoon at Colinton. In beautiful sunshine the game produced 6 superb tries with the 09 Leavers edging the game by 24 points to 10. There were fine performances from eminent 1st XV players from last season like Bruce Mustard, Angus MacIlwraith and James Johnstone (who was playing on the 1st XV pitch for the first time since his season ending shoulder injury last season, whilst Ali Edwards, Finlay MacLean, Richard Walker and Tom Jackson performed heroically for the 'older' generation. Thanks to Mr Charman for refereeing and to all the old boys and Upper 6th boys for such an enjoyable match.
