Merchistonians challenged the School on 23 February 2010. School’s No.1 rink put Merchistonians to the sword 12-9 in a very enjoyable game. The other game was a mixture of boys and Merchistonians, this being closely contested with only one point difference between the sides. Bill Hannay had hoped that ex-world champion Hammy McMillan would play but he had to call off with an injury. His son Hamilton and Grant Hardie gave the Merchistonians a lesson in positive play, taking a 7 at one end! Merchistonians all enjoyed the day and socialising with the boys over tea afterwards.
