London Drinks Reception

A small, very convivial gathering was held on the evening of Thursday 2 October at ‘The Running Horse’ pub, Mayfair, the West End!  The Headmaster and Mrs Hunter had been in London attending the annual HMC Conference and took the opportunity to touch base with some London Merchistonians. 

Whilst many had hoped to join us, in the end they were unfortunately unable to do so. Andrew and Barbara, and Carolyn Thornton (Merchistonian Club Secretary) were delighted to meet Nathan Bond (94-02), Charles Caygill (95-00), Scott Hadden (95-02), Tommy Hill (88-94) and his wife, Sari, David Kirkpatrick (97-03), Guy Lavery (00-01) and his wife, Caitlin, Peng Li (98-01), Ben Philip (02-06) and Sandy Robson (51-55).  Conversation ranged from how many young Merchistonians had completed Masters degrees and were now working in London, to how many were still playing rugby for London Scottish or Esher! It was also wonderful to see the warmth with which Merchistonians who had been at School together greeted one another. We hope you enjoy seeing the photos of the evening!
