The 150th Celebration Rugby Dinner took place on Friday 31 October 2008 at Murrayfield. Over 900 guests attended from Merchiston and Edinburgh Academy. Merchistonians who had not seen one another for a long time, some for over 40 years, enjoyed catching up and reminiscing. The main guest speakers consisted of John Beattie, Ian McLauchlan, Fran Cotton, Roger Baird and Jeremy Richardson - all of which were excellent. Ally Logan was the Auctioneer for the night and raised over £22,000 for Hearts and Balls. The total raised at the Dinner which included the raffle and auction raised a staggering £32,627.37 - many thanks to all who attended the Dinner and helped raise a fantastic amount of money for a very worthy cause.
