Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 August 2008 The emphasis is on fun. There is a wide range of activities to choose from, including football and rugby with celebrity sportsmen, music, target shooting, art, design and technology, outdoor pursuits, swimming, electronics and an evening trip into Edinburgh . Boys will be looked after by our staff, mix with pupils and for those who wish to, sleep in one of the boarding houses. The weekend is open to boys aged 8 - 13. We do not need any prior commitment that you will be registering at Merchiston, either before the weekend or afterwards. Parents are also welcome to attend the event on the Sunday afternoon in order to see what is going on and, if they wish, to have a look around the School. We only ask for a small contribution of £35, which is returnable should circumstances later make it impossible for your son to attend the weekend. Our 'Big Activity Weekend' is a great opportunity for boys interested in joining Merchiston to sample some of the activities which we run here, and get a flavour of the Merchiston experience. The weekend, which is designed to be an excellent introduction to the School, ran for the first time in 2001 and it proved extremely popular.
