musicMusic is taught as a class subject to all pupils from J4 to Fourth Forms, and is available thereafter as an optional subject to GCSE, AS and A Levels.

In J4 & 5 and in the 1st to 4th Forms, all pupils follow a programme of listening, performing and inventing music in mixed ability groups where all levels of musical experience are catered for. The scheme of work is based on the Scottish Curriculum, 5-14. GCSE and AS/A2 Music are taken with OCR, where the syllabus is an extension of the concepts already met lower down the school, but usually with a stronger emphasis on practical performing.
